What is a combi boiler?
A combi boiler supplies direct hot water on demand, producing mains pressured hot water as soon as you turn on the tap.
There is no requirement for a water storage tank, therefore saving space and energy costs.
What is a system/heat only boiler?
System/heat only boilers are generally for larger properties with a high demand for hot water (2 or 3 showers running off the boiler) and are commonly fitted with vented or unvented cylinders.
If you have an airing cupboard with a cylinder, the chances are you have a heat only boiler. These can be upgraded to a combi configuration which will provide additional space currently taken up by the water storage tank.
